The idea for the Bright Crustaceans fabric collection came from my daily painting practice. I needed something to paint and came across the design challenge on Spoonflower. After searching the web for inspiration,I drew each lobster crab and shrimp. I then painted them with acrylic paints.To create the fabric designs, I first had to convert each hand-painted creature into a digital file. I photographed my work and extracted each creature as a PNG image in Photoshop. From there, it was a matter of playing around with the images until I came up with a design I was happy with.
I had to narrow down my entry to one choice. Voting will be done between May 9-21, 2024. Head here to vote and look for my design under CESArtEvolutionLab. The link will take you to all of the entries. I wish I could give you an entry number to look for but all entries are served up in random order to each person who visits. This makes it fair for all designers.
