The Weird People
The Weird People series features portraits and figure studies from a non-photorealistic perspective. The characters first live in my sketchbook and are later brought to life with bright bold colors on canvas, fabric, or paper. Many of the sketches are created using a single continuous line drawing method often used in creative warm up exercises. This method often produces people with unusual features or odd proportions. Despite their unusual look, each character is full of feeling and often has a small story to tell.
The images created for this series will be used in the creation of larger artworks. The images are designed to be used in collage( both of fabric and paper) or as the beginning inspiration for art dolls.
